Tony de Gouveia is an experienced Psychologist and Personal/Executive Coach who has concentrated on the development of personal and interpersonal skills (life skills) in his career up to the present time.
Between 2002 and 2008 Tony was a member of Milpark at the Milpark Business School (MBA Programme). Prior to that, he lectured in General and Industrial Psychology at Vista University (Soweto Campus), subsequent to qualifying as a Psychologist in 1984.
He has also been practising as a professional coach/counsellor to various individuals (personal/business), families, groups and organisations since then. He has served as a mentor/coach to the Business Women's Association (BWA) and an Executive Stress Management Coach for the Careways (Employee Wellness) group. He also participated as a coach/mentor in the Milpark Business School Women in Leadership course (2004).
Tony has been involved with General Management Consulting as well as specific (focused) HR training within various training media i.e. class room, distance learning and satellite TVmodalities. He has lectured on most topics within the HR arena, including Self Management and Leadership competencies and Customer Service.

Tony has focussed on Organisational Behaviour with specific reference to Management Training and Coaching in Human Resource competencies since 1995. He was accepted in 1997 into the Lecturing and Tutoring staff at the Graduate
Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) in Johannesburg (previously affiliated to Henley College in the UK).
He has also lectured at Midrand and also lectured on the MBA Midrand University (Industrial Psychology) and currently lectures on the MBA Programme (Managing People and Organisations) at Milpark Business School. He was a member of the Academic Board of St Augustine College of South Africa until 2002. He was admitted in 2001 as a member of the South African Board for Personnel Practice (SABPP) and is currently a chartered HR Practitioner (CHRP) in the HR Development category.
During his academic career he made various presentations within his discipline (on the topic of stress) at both International and National level. He is co-author of a textbook on Counselling in South Africa. He has also filled Executive positions within various Psychological and professional Associations in South Africa. He received a merit award in 1991 for his contribution to Psychology in this country by the former Institute for Clinical Psychology.
